this is the 3rd week after oregano cutting been transplanted into small pots with 4 different mediums and was surprised to find out those in vermiculite/‎蛭石 grow generally better (light blue pot) than the rest; especially there are 2 out of 5 died in soil base – with 24/7 lights on, water in soil base probably be dried out faster than vermiculite, coconut peat and perlite. 三周后的牛至幼苗在各自培养介质中均有良好的成长趋势；另人意外的是，在蛭石中，牛至的生长高度和强壮度是整体最好的。其次分别是椰糠，珍珠岩，再者是传统的培养土 – 猜测可能是因为在24小时持续的外加光照条件下，培养土中的水分流失比较严重。

6月中旬时，共20株牛至幼苗被移植入4种培养介质中，包括培养土x5，椰糠x5，蛭石x5，以及珍珠岩x5。2周后的今天，所有幼苗都存活；同时椰糠及蛭石中的牛至长势相对良好。

上周末，4支荧光灯(共216瓦)按照到位，用以提供24小时持续光照。另外，2.5瓦的小电扇也可随时使用，用来增加空气流通，给植物创造良好生长环境。稍后计时器将调试完毕，届时每天将保证有18个小时的充足光照和换气。

During this workshop you’ll get introduced to the opensource tool Autodesk 123D and start modeling with easy step by step guides.

Membership is now Just 100rmb per month per member, for an additional 200rmb a month you can also store your projects/stuff in the space in a box that is no bigger than 50x50x30cm, you can contribute more money if you want as a donation. Failure to pay membership will result in your junk being stored at XinCheJian becoming a donation to the space. XinCheJian will no longer offer community parts but instead sell them in sets, for example 10 resistors for 1rmb to cut down on waste. Members will have access to the space and the tools, strangers must be accompanied by a member at all times and will be responsible for that friend during that period at XinCheJian. Markus Bindhammer http://sugarshot.org/ ,from Germany is an enthusiastic experimental Rocketeer, amateur chemist, technician and mathmatician residing in Shanghai, Markus and his team Selene was a former Google lunar X Prize competitor.

Markus will be talking about “Experimental Rockets”, this will be explosive and Captivating, a great way to start moving to space with the best foot forward or rocket.

We’ve just got word over the hackerspace wire that the joint space program proposal to Darpa is entering negotiations for a potential contract award, good job and fingers crossed to those involved.

A quick thank you to all the friends and presenters of XinCheJian who
managed to make it to Occupy Barcamp, We had an Epic turnout and
XinCheJian really did a great job to Occupy Barcamp in Shanghai this
year, find out how we’re taking it up a notch and heading to capital
to Occupy the Maker Faire next month.

This weekend is the start of the Jue Festival dedicated to Music, Arts
and Technology that XinCheJian is involved in and supporting all
through the hard-work of Ziyun Peng.

Tonight’s Presentations

We have Derek Zhang coming down from his hobbyist store and bringing
some things that he’s developed, last week he showed us some videos of
boat racers able to hit 90km/h and copters of sorts – flying stunt
patterns, he has a strong footing in the shanghai R/C crowd and
invites us all to come play.

Susan Evans From GoodToChina will be talking about the upcoming Eco
Design Fair along with their two exhibits around Sustainable Build and
Urban Farming and how you can get involved through XinCheJian and
GoodToChina
