Small aquaponic indoor is fun and building big one outdoor is even better. These system is of two 500L fish tanks at the bottom and two 300L growing bed on top giving about 2 square meters growing space and capacity for about 50+ fishes. I am still trying to figure out how to get Tilapia in Shanghai but for now, carps will do. 😉

instead of traditional seedling from seeds, we are trying to grow roots in water and coconut peat bases from fresh oregano plant (stems with leaves). after 1 week, more than 50% oregano has grown its own roots. finding:

• oregano grows taller with more leaves in coconut peat than in water,but with less and smaller roots
• in the same water base, oregano grows more and roots with lightening compares to those under sunlight.

=Wednesday Presenters= David Li, the Foreman of XinCheJian And Roger Mu king of the jungle, will be kicking off the Hydroponics corner, a group is forming around Hydroponics, Areoponics – lets see what seeds they will plant first. Li Xiang a Ph.D Candidate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University will be presenting his project and also seeking help in an experience involving machine learning and robotics along the lines of Factory Automation for Docks. The rest of the evening will be met with discussions and people working on projects XinCheJian will be holding a young maker faire on June 2nd, if you would like to help out or show your projects then please contact us.]]>
