Learn the basics of designing your own PCB, you can use free tools such as EagleCAD (freemium) or kicad (opensource). For this we’ll use EagleCAD first learn how to layout the schemetrics and then move into the layout tool and layout your very first PCB. We will design and Layout our very own Micro controller called “Annoying ATTron” using the ATTiny85 which is compatible with Arduino Core with a few addons but just 6 pins to play with and no external crystal needed. we’ll also use autoroute for the routing quickly, and you dont like it, no problem, on your own time after the workshop you’ll be able to handroute. We’ll use 0805 SMD components as much as possible because drilling holes just suck! What you must prepare 1. This workshop is easy enough for total newbies to learn all you need to know to get going on an Arduino. Participants will use an Arduino clone, and set it up on solderless breadboards to make their own TV-B-Gone remote control to turn off TVs in public places — a fun way to learn Arduino (and electronics) basics. Bring your laptop, if you can. Bring your Arduino kits or buy one onsite for rmb210. Itinerary Intro to Arduino Very short lesson to learn everything you need to know about electronics! We will be using an Arduino clone and set up the free and open-source software on our laptops (if you bring one) — Windows, MacOS, or Linux are all fine! And then it’s time to make something and learn how easy it is to use Arduino! I’ll (very easily!) show you how to read schematic diagrams, and you’ll put together your own TV-B-Gone remote control using your Arduino clone. We will use a solderless breadboard. These are really useful, and provide a fast, and very easy way to put circuits together without needing to solder. Target practice is available after the workshop. ]]>

A plasma speaker is a device that generates an high voltage electrical arc that makes purple light and music! Without any speakers or any moving parts! Sounds too good to be true? Well, you’re wrong, the high voltage arc really does ‘sing’ by vibrating in the air. This workshop will cover basic plant growing and hydroponic techniques that will allow you to understand and maintain one of the most basic hydroponic system types (hand watered container) with some of the lowest maintenance and resilient edible plants available. You will also learn how to assemble a basic hand watered container hydroponic system, and how to transplant seedlings into the system. At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a functioning hydroponic system with live plants and the knowledge to keep them alive. After that, all you will need for success is patience and motivation! ]]>
